The News Building

London / United Kingdom

London Bridge Quarter is a commercial district in one of London’s most significant transport interchanges. It is composed of three projects: the Shard (Office, Residential, Hotel, Retail, Transportation), The News Building (Headquarters), Shard Place (Residential). The non-built area between the buildings is exclusively private space and piazzas dedicated to travelers, inhabitants, and tourists

The News Building has large, south-facing landscaped roof terraces on levels 13 and 14, as well as naturally ventilated winter gardens on levels 3 to 12. The double-skin facade, 8,600 sq ft (800 sq m) of photovoltaic panels on the roof, and a combined heat and power plant earnt the project a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating.
