Renzo Piano, Centre Pompidou, Monograph

Renzo Piano Foundation / 2017

The Renzo Piano Foundation issued its ninth monograph in 2017.

"To me it's still the "Beaubourg". Even today, forty years on, I find it hard to call it by its official name, Centre Georges Pompidou. Yet it was President Pompidou who made the project possible, defended it, and even ensured it was completed after his death in 1974. We'll come to that later. But let's take it one step at a time. To tell this story we have to go back a long way back [...] To 1970, when I was living in London."

After the opening of Centre Pompidou which took place over 40 years ago, the Renzo Piano Foundation published this book as testimony of Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers adventure.
