Façade system for the Luna Rossa team base for the 32nd America’s Cup

Valencia / Spain

This structure was designed to serve as an operational base for Luna Rossa’s Team during the 2007 America’s Cup. Considering the building’s function, the choice of using old sails as a building material was natural and appropriate. The simple rectilinear steel structure is clad with a series of fabric panels. Each panel is produced out of a patchwork of pieces of sails cut and sewn together.
